With Every Breath

With Every Breath

by Sixpence None the Richer and Jars of Clay

Hallelujah from the heavens
Hallelujah in the heights above the earth
Hallelujah all His angels
Hallelujah for the last will be first
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord

Hallelujah in the morning
Hallelujah for the beauty of His scars
Hallelujah in the twilight
Hallelujah sun and moon and shining stars
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord

When the night seems so long (throw your hands to the sky)
You can sing a new song (wipe the tears from your eyes)
When you’re weak, He is strong
He can heal your wounded soul
And calm the storm inside

For all your times of laughter
In every hopeful prayer
When the world weighs on your shoulders
Through sorrow and your despair
With everything, with every breath, praise the Lord
Let everything, let every breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything, let every breath praise the Lord

When the night seems so long (throw your hands to the sky)
You can sing a new song (wipe the tears from your eyes)
When you’re weak, He is strong
He can heal your wounded soul
And calm the storm inside

Indie Saturday features the song “With Every Breath” this Black Saturday. It is a beautiful and soulful song worth listening to on this Lenten season.

Aside from that, this song is important for me because it helped me in one of my darkest moments. I have written in my description the sentence “Music is my medicine, art is my life.” And this particular song has become my medicine on one of my toughest time. And singing and playing this on guitar had calmed my troubled self. So today, I just wish to share this song to you. 🙂

Have a blessed Black Saturday. 🙂

  4. I’ll be waiting for your video. Meanwhile I’ll be watching (and hearing) this one.

By the bye, I was playing my guitar a lot these days. Do you remember your first post on your earlier drawings? It seems it made I played again. I’m not changing my brushes for my plectrums (mainly because I’m fingerpicker) but I remembered how funny is to play an instrument.

    Thanks!

    1. Wow, glad to hear that Nuno! I’m happy that it helped you remember. But I recently dropped the idea of being in a band so that I can pursue art (my first love). I figured that I can’t be two different person at the same time. But I will still enjoy music in my own ways, I might still go learn a song or two in my extra time. Have fun! 😀

      1. I’m hyperactive 😀

A Spanish singer-songwriter also paints and he participates in exhibitions. Being in a band can be time consuming. I play just for fun.

  5. When I saw this picture of the moon and Sixpence None The Richer, I was instantly reminded of their big song, “Kiss Me”, since the chorus in there is basically all about moonlight. I just found it interesting how strongly an image can be tied to a song.

    Beautiful artwork.
