An artist cannot fail; it is a success to be one.
~ Charles Horton Coolye
I would like to quote that for it partially states the purpose for this site.
Due to the fact that not everyone who is inclined to art can be full-time artists, and not everyone who can make art have enough time to spare to make a grand artwork, I made this site as a challenge to myself to dedicate 30 minutes of my day for art.
I am currently a preschool teacher and currently helping manage a preschool center. I also do art tutorials to kids on my spare weekends. Because of this, it looks like I can barely have enough time and motivation to put up with big art projects but my love for the art won’t make me give up on it. So, I guess, if it’s just 30 minutes, maybe it would work out just fine with my schedule.
Artistically speaking, I don’t have a formal training in arts. I was taught by my uncle – Luis J. Castro who is a realism painter, for three months when I was on sixth grade. And from then on, I do self study and read books about art to cultivate my skills. From time to time, I draw pictures as gifts or by request. So, on this site, I am challenging myself to learn more, improve and use art on a regular basis.
Feel free to comment or leave suggestion on each of my artwork and it will be greatly appreciated. π

Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking my post. Please stay true to your dream. Somehow connections are made. I too was a preschool teacher eons ago before becoming a domestic violence counselor. And I too use to paint. I actually sold a few watercolors and my daughter’s still ask me to pick up the brush. Instead I have chosen to pick up the camera. I will check in on you to see what you have created!!! Good luck! Bonnie

I’ve been an ‘artist’ for many years, but it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve had time to concentrate on it. Thanks for looking at my blog: http://destructivetesting.wordpress.com/. And, it IS a success just to be an artist!

Hello Mike, thanks for visiting my blog. I kinda find your working place interesting, it is filled with stuffs you can use to build something. As for me, I only have a table, pencils and a journal for my art. I’d love to have one room dedicated to art but well, I have no space for it. LOL.
Have a great day!

Great blog idea. I’m the same way – I feel artistic inclinations, but there is simply no time in the day for them. However, at some point after I get home from work, I pick up my guitar, even if it’s just for 15 minutes, and even if I’m just sitting there playing the same chords over and over again. There is something amazingly therapeutic about it.
I just wanted to visit your blog and say thanks for voting for my poem, “Euphoria, With A Gumdrop Incision” (http://lettersfromthewasteland.com/2012/02/16/euphoria-with-a-gumdrop-incision/), on the ClownRhymes poetry challenge this week!

You’re welcome. I like the poem you made. π
And yeah there’s something therapeutic about playing the guitar for 15 min. playing no particular song. I’m doing it whenever I get a hold of the guitar but I’m not that great with it. lol
Thanks for visiting my blog! π

Hi Melody, I love your blog and your reasons for creating it! I have recently started a blog for very similar reasons, I just wanted more art in my life and since I can’t get an “art job” I thought I would entertain myself like this! It has been great to create and also to find other people’s work.
I really enjoy your work, keep it up and good luck with your studies. Oh and thanks for visiting mine too!

I’m in the same situation! I do artist trading cards alot. I gesso over baseball cards and paint them. They are minature paintings but they don’t take long. Even if you were a full time artist, alot of your time would have to be spent marketing. It’s a shame that making art is a luxury to many people. Keep up the good work.
